Going through this journey, from the beginning, I have decided to be as public as possible. I haven’t done the work behind closed doors. Through this blog and Instagram that is attached to this blog, I have pushed as much stuff as possible to the forefront of anyone who wants to be apart of my journey. My journey has been public… why?

I’ve written about why I went public here. Today I want to specifically focus on the people around me who have been a vital help along the way. First my hope is that my journey will help others, but secondly, I really need help and accountability. I have “my people” who are those close to me who challenge and push me forward on this journey. Who are my people?

The whole point of this journey: First my hope is that my journey will help others, but secondly, I really need help and accountability. I have “my people” who are those close to me who challenge and push me forward on this journey. Who are my people?

First, my family. They totally support what I’m doing. They might not “get it” sometimes, but they support it and that’s huge. They allow me to have time and space to do what I need to do in order to stay on plan.

Second, I have a food team. Jamie Free who writes my plans and holds me accountable to them via text messages and face-to-face check-ins every two weeks. I also have Entre-Nous and Samantha, who provide me with great meals and protein balls for snacks each week. She keeps me stay on track and supports me with encouragement and help. Samantha has been on this journey and her wisdom has been so invaluable to me. These two people are the backbone for all my success.

Third, is the Wolfpack. The Wolfpack is the 0530a crew that works out at CrossFit Combustion (My home box). They are the most encouraging and affirming people I could ever ask for as partners in this journey. They celebrate every win with me and even stop whatever they are doing to cheer me on… my heart is filled daily by these people. I hope I’m able to give them the same love they’ve shown me.

The fourth, set of people are my friends and church community. They allow me to be me. They give me space and acceptance when I show up with my own meals and let me eat in meetings when it’s time. They encourage me and love me.

The last group that I am learning more and more about is the online community. They periodically reach out and we talk with each other about challenges and exciting milestones. It’s been a really cool experience getting to know more and more folks that I otherwise would have never known. People who see my posts and decided to make a life change. People who try meal planning and CrossFit because they’ve felt inspirited by something I’ve posted. It’s been shocking to see the online community be a part of this journey and I look forward to talking to more and more people about it along the way.

Each of these groups has done more for me than I could ever say here or even repay. I am blessed to be surrounded by people who love me and believe in me. This would have never happened if I didn’t put myself out there… if I wasn’t willing to be vulnerable and honest, people wouldn’t understand or know how to encourage me in this journey. As a bonus, we all get healthier and better together, because positive change evokes positive change in others around us. Your honesty and allowing others to be a part of your journey, not only, will help you but also help those around you. Be the change the world around you needs. It starts with you! Who are (or will be) your people? Get a team together.

Don’t stop… Keep Going!
